PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire with an elliptical shoulder capable of reducing a tread distortion. SOLUTION: A pneumatic tire 10 includes a carcass 22, a side wall 18, a shoulder 20 and a grounding tread 12. The grounding tread 12 includes an outermost surface having a first region 46, a second region 48 and a third region 50 of which boundaries are defined between an equatorial plane 36 and the shoulder 20. The second region 48 has approximately the same spread as that of the third region 50 and connected to the third region 50 along a circumferential boundary.
