The invention relates to a method for monitoring the function of a transmission oil pump (3) of a motor vehicle, which is driven by an electromotor (4) according to a power electronic (11) and a device for operating a transmission oil pump (3) of a motor vehicle, comprising an electormotor (4) as a main drive of the transmission oil pump (3) and a power electronic (11) which is associated with the electromotor (4). The transmission oil pump (3) can be connected to at least one substitute drive (1, 7, 8). The aim of the invention is to increase the availability and the reliability of a transmission oil pump (3). Said aim is achieved by the virtue of the fact that a monitoring unit (12) monitors the function of the transmission oil pump (3) and, if an error is detected, a substitute drive (1, 7, 8) is activated. A monitoring unit (12) of monitoring the function of the transmission oil pump (3) is also provided. |
