The compression fitting for a heating or sanitation pipe comprises a fitting component (12) with a support sleeve (16) onto which is pushed a pipe end (66), a counter-piece (24) for the fitting component, a compression ring (40) encompassing the pipe end, and a union nut (42) screwed to the counter-piece. The fitting component has radially projecting fixing protrusions (46) for the axial locking of the fitting component inside the union nut on its female thread (44) or other inner-lying surface formations to prevent inadvertent release of the union nut before its screwing to the counter-piece.
