Clinker for grinding into calcium aluminate cement is obtained by sintering at 50‹ to 460‹ F. below its melting point for at least 5 mins. a mix of 52-74% Al 2 O 3 (containing incidental quantities of TiO 2 ); 0À5-4À0% Fe 2 O 3 ; 23-42% CaO; 0-6% SiO 2 and up to 5% of miscellaneous components. Limestone with 60-70% of bauxite is specified as is sintering at 2400‹-2500‹ F. |
