Aqueous dyestuff preparations consist of a neutral to weakly acid drawing anionic wool dyestuff, at least one hydrophilic surface active compound containing a hydrophobic organic radical and at least one polyglycol ether radical some ethyleneoxy groups of which can be C-alkyl and/or C-phenyl substituted, a water soluble aldehyde condensation product containing basic nitrogen, enough of an acid to make the initial pH value less than 7.5 but not less than 3, water and optionally a thickener. The above compositions are used for dyeing synthetic polyamide fibres and textiles preferably at 95-135 DEG C either in an open vessel or under pressure or alternatively steaming in an open vessel or under pressure may be effected. Azo and azomethine dyestuff metal comprises of heavy metals of atomic number 24, 27 and 29 which contain more than one complex former are employed. Hydrophilic surface active compounds are polyglycol ethers of alkyl- or alkenylmono- or poly-amines or acyl-aminoalkyl mono or polyamines which contain hydrophobic hydrocarbon radicals of at least 10 carbon atoms and at least 15 ethyleneoxy groups of which some can be C-alkyl and/or C-phenyl substituted. As water soluble aldehyde condensation products hexamethylene on tetramine is specified. Various polyamides are specified as dyable. |
