<p>A press-and-blow machine (10) for the manufacture of hollow glassware comprises a loader (12) for receiving a gob from a delivery (50) and for pressing it into a pareson, and a rotatable blowing carousel (18) having a plurality of blowing stations (22), each of which is arranged for receiving a pareson (P) and for blowing it. The loader (12) comprises several forming units (36) in spider arrangement around a vertical axis (A), each of which includes a blank-mould holder (48) for receiving the gob, a plunger (54) vertically movable into the blank-mould holder (48) to shape the pareson (P), a neck-ring (56) for holding the pareson and transferring it to the blowing machine (18), and driving means (42, 44) for driving the forming unit (36) to rotate around the vertical axis (A), from a position where the blank-mould holder (48) is located below the delivery (50) to receive the gob, to a position in which the neck-ring (56) moves with the blowing station 22 to drop the pareson (P) on it.</p> |
