The device has a control module (MC) receiving a request for interruption of a router (R) operation, and ordering a processing module (MT) to generate warning messages to other routers and to indicate removal of routes. The module (MC) orders an observing module (MO) to start an observation, and allows interruption of operation of the router (R) in case of reception of an alert signal from the module (MO). An independent claim is also included for an interdomain router for an Internet protocol communication network.
