Air bag module with vent

A component of an air bag module comprises a gas outlet for releasing a part of the generated gas from the system in case of an increased inner pressure. A flat hollow element (12) is attached to the inner surface of the component at the edge of the outlet and is rolled up when not in use. When a particular inner pressure level is exceeded some of the gas can be released through the element (12). In a second version the element (10) covers the outlet in an inflated condition also resulting in a reduction of pressure.
