The invention relates to a lock valve (1), in particular, for a strip processing unit, provided for sealing a slot- like opening (3) between two different regions of the unit through which a flexible substrate strip (4) passes, comprising at least one moving sealing body (7), cooperating with a sealing surface (5) and thus sealing the opening (3), whereby the strip substrate (4) is optionally tensioned between the body (7) and the sealing surface (5) on closing the lock valve (1). According to the invention, the sealing surface (5) encloses the opening (3) in the form of a frame and the body (7) may be pressed against the sealing surface (5) and/or the strip substrate (4) running through the opening (3) to seal the opening (3) such as to close the opening (3) by at least indirect pressure on the edges of the sealing surface (5).
