摘要 The present invention is related to a device for detecting and locating faults on surfaces of buried or submerged ducts, on coatings of the metallic structure thereof and the environment about the same carried out in real time by means of the input and output ratio of an alternating current signal having low amplitude and performed by transference functions of Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS). Because there are substantial amounts of strategic fluids handled into said ducts, such as water, gas and oil, the maintenance of the structural integrity of ducts becomes crucial. The present device comprises a direct current power source or a rectifier having a capacity of 100 Volts/100 Amperes; as well as a mixed power source of alternating current and direct current having a capacity of 3 Ameperes/30 Volts which is coupled to a PC for acquiring data by a commercial software. Both sources are coupled to an electronic board that is not available on the market. Finally, the acquired impedance data were analysed by a computer tool not available on the market which quantifies the fault or damage detected in the duct and the location thereof; i.e., by means of a low amplitude signal and substantial amounts of current induced in a buried or submerged metallic structure, the in real-time transference function is obtained from an analysis system including an algorithm based on non-deterministic models. Wavelengths and algorithms of control theory are combined together for discerning the signal which allows components forming a cell to be separated apart from each other, and for recognizing false alarms in events different from a surface fault.
