The bandage has a series of tensioning straps (8, 9) lying at an angle of up to 30 degrees with respect to the circumferential direction. These are passed through angled tensioning eyes (6, 7), arranged as a fishbone pattern in pairs at 30 degrees to the longitudinal direction of the bandage. The strap ends are turned back and held down by velcro-like fasteners (10-13).
