An aliased-region detector (320) detects an aliased region based on magnitudes and signs of the high frequency components `RH, GH and BH' at pixels of n2> times density RGB images received from n2> times density image interpolation unit (310). An anti-aliasing processor (330) performs an anti-aliasing operation on the detected aliased region and restores an original image from the aliased image. The aliased region detector (320) has a magnitude judging unit for comparing the magnitudes of the high frequency components `RH, GH and BH' at the pixels of respective n2> times density RGB images and to determine a high frequency component having a larger magnitude at a current pixel. A sign judging unit sets a maximum and minimum region when the sign of the high frequency component having the larger magnitude among high frequency components at the current pixel is positive or negative respectively. A zero region is set when the sign of high frequency component is zero. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) aliasing compensation device; (2) anti-aliasing unit; (3) image interpolation method; and (4) computer readable medium storing image interpolation program. |
