<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce any multiplex image phenomenon without deteriorating any flicker phenomenon in a 50Hz mode of a CRT and PDP or color breakup of a DLP system projector. <P>SOLUTION: A video signal is written by the field frequency of an input video signal in an image memory 3, and the video signal is read by a frequency which is two times as high as the field frequency so that the field frequency of the video signal can be doubled. The inter-field movement of the input video signal is detected by a movement detecting circuit 7, and the interpolating image of movement equivalent to the inter-field movement is formed by an interpolating circuit 9 according to the detected moving vector. The formed interpolating image is inserted into the video signals whose field frequency is increased by a switch circuit 6. Thus, it is possible to suppress the generation of any multiplex image phenomenon even at the time of increasing the field frequency of the video signal in order to remove any flicker, or to prevent the generation of color breakup. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
