FIELD: chemical technology. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention is designated for utilization of rubber crumbs prepared from used up tires. Rubber crumbs in mixture with heavy petroleum residues in the ratio = (10:90)-(40:60) are subjected for thermal oxidation with air at temperature 250-300°C or by thermal treatment at temperature 280-320°C followed by oxidation with air at temperature 230-270°C to yield the modified bitumen material. Prepared product shows adhesion to marble and granite 100%, reduced temperature dependence of index "penetration" and can be used as binding material in road building, insulating works and in another fields. ^ EFFECT: improved method for utilization. ^ 2 cl, 2 ex
