PROCEDE ET INSTALLATION DE RECUPERATION DU ZINC CONTENU DANS UN BAIN DE FONTE LIQUIDE

The recuperation of zinc contained in a bath (2) of molten iron consists of: (a) pouring the molten iron into a ladle (1); (b) confining a sealed space (6) above the free surface (2a) of the bath and putting this space under vacuum; (c) injecting a neutral gas into the molten iron to stir the bath and bring the zinc to the surface where it is vaporized and at least partially oxidized; (d) extracting the gas charged with zinc dust; (e) cooling the gas; (f) separating the zinc dust from the gas; (g) collecting the zinc dust; (h) rejecting the dedusted gas to the atmosphere. An independent claim is also included for an installation for the recuperation of zinc from a bath of molten iron by this method.
