<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a current sensor which can discriminate faults, while reducing the cost and reduce the size of magnetic core. <P>SOLUTION: The current sensor measures a current value of a wire 6, passing through a core 3 by placing a Hall element 4 in an air gap 2 of the core 3. A coil 5 for generating magnetic flux is wound around the core 3; a controllable current source is connected to the coil 5 from a controller 9; and at suspension of energization to the wire 6, an inspection current is allowed to pass through the coil 5 via the controller 9, and faults are decided, on the basis of the current value detected by the Hall element 4, at that time. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
