<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve interconnectivity between equipment by preventing data loss due to the transmission and reception of data blocks exceeding the maximum length in an environment wherein the communication equipment in which the maximum length of receivable data blocks is different coexist. <P>SOLUTION: A data transmitter 1 is provided with an equipment kind judgement part 11 and a maximum length setting part 12. The equipment kind judgement part 11 judges a receivable data maximum length which is the maximum value of a data length that communicating destination equipment can receive. The maximum length setting part 12 sets a transmission data maximum length which is the maximum value of the data length to be transmitted to the smallest value of the receivable data maximum lengths of the entire communicating destination equipment until the receivable data maximum length is judged by the equipment kind judgement part 11.
