DISPLAY DEVICE HAVING CONTACT SENSING FUNCTION AND DRIVING METHOD THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device having a contact sensing function and a driving method thereof.

SOLUTION: The display device includes a first sensor which generates a first sensing signal in response to external light and backlight, a second sensor which is intercepted from the external light and generates a second sensing signal in response to the backlight, a third sensor which receives the external light by contact of a user and generates a third sensing signal in response to the backlight and a sensing signal processing part which generates a first reference signal and a second reference signal smaller than the first reference signal based on the first and second sensing signals from the first and second sensors and selectively outputs the third sensing signal according to the first and second reference signals. By time for determining a contact position is shortened by selectively outputting the third sensing signal based on the first and second sensing signals.
