PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve both simplification of a device and reduction in vibrations, in an optical scanning device that uses two polygon mirrors. SOLUTION: An optical scanning device 1 is provided with a first optical system 11, including a polygon mirror 113 and a second optical system 21 that includes a polygon mirror 213. The polygon mirror 113 provided in the first optical system 11 and the polygon mirror 213 provided in the second optical system 21 are configured, such that they rotate in mutually opposite directions. Further, the optical scanning device 1 is provided with one BD sensor 120 for detecting laser beams that are scanned with the polygon mirrors 113 and 213, and slits with mutually different opening widths are arranged between the BD sensor 120 and the respective polygon mirrors 113 and 213.
