PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive chip for a display device, having an integrated circuit which is operative with a relatively low voltage at a high frequency, as compared with a level shifter integrated in a display panel to improve the manufacture efficiency of a drive chip IC, and a display device having the drive chip for the display device. SOLUTION: The display device includes a serial interface section which converts 1st image data provided by a base-band IC into 2nd image data and outputs the 2nd image data, a timing generation section which outputs a 2nd control signal based upon a 1st control signal provided from the base-band IC, and a memory which stores the 2nd image data and outputs stored the 2nd image data to the display panel, in response to the 2nd control signal.
