PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technology for allowing a gateway apparatus to transfer a packet to a suitable upstream network. SOLUTION: The gateway apparatus 105 stores a group of logical path numbers between an interface name with an upstream network, corresponding to an address block transmitted from the upstream network and a terminal 107. A terminal 107 stores the address block and the group of logical channel numbers and establishes the logical channel with the gateway apparatus 105, on the basis of the logical channel number; and at transmitting of a packet, selects a logical channel, based on a transmitting destination address, the address block, and the group of logical channel numbers; and transmits the packet to the gateway apparatus 105 by using the address allocated to the logical interface as the sender's address. The gateway apparatus 105 transfers the packet to a suitable upstream network, on the basis of the logical channel, the interface name, and the group of logical channel numbers.
