摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved plasma display panel wherein the luminance difference is removed by uniformly discharging, while the number of circuit boards for driving it is decreased. SOLUTION: This plasma display panel is provided with an upper substrate 111 and a lower substrate 121 which are arranged to face each other, a partition wall 124 arranged between the upper substrate 111 and the lower substrate 121 and restricting a plurality of luminescent cells 130 with the upper substrate 111 and the lower substrate 121; a plurality of discharge sustaining electrode pairs S comprising pairs of scanning electrodes Y<SB>1</SB>-Y<SB>m</SB>and the sustaining electrodes X<SB>1</SB>-X<SB>m</SB>, which extend over the luminescent cells 130, continuously arranged in one direction and disposed in parallel, facing each other, at least one or more floating electrodes M arranged between the scanning electrodes Y<SB>1</SB>-Y<SB>m</SB>and the sustaining electrodes X<SB>1</SB>-X<SB>m</SB>and blocked from an external power, address electrodes A<SB>1</SB>-A<SB>n</SB>extended in a direction intersecting the discharge sustaining electrode pairs S, a phosphor layer 125 arranged in the luminescent cells 130 and discharge gas sealed in the luminescent cells 130.
