PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display panel for enhancing emission efficiency while reducing a discharge start voltage by applying an opposing discharge structure. SOLUTION: The plasma display panel comprises a first substrate for enhancing emission efficiency while reducing the discharge start voltage by applying the opposing discharge structure; a second substrate that is arranged opposite to the first one with a number of divided discharge cells between them; a phosphor layer formed inside the discharge cell; an address electrode formed along the discharge cell aligned at one side adjacently to the first substrate; and first and second electrodes that are electrically insulated from the address electrode adjacently to the first substrate and are formed in parallel along the discharge cell aligned at the other side orthogonally crossing the address electrode. The first and second electrodes are arranged in a pair at each discharge cell and include a projection projecting toward the center of the discharge cell. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
