PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flexible organic electroluminescent display which can prevent voltage drops and line defects by using a substrate formed of metal foil as a power supply layer, and to provide its method of fabrication. SOLUTION: The organic electroluminescent display comprises: a conductive substrate; a first insulating layer arranged on one surface of the substrate and having a contact hole exposing a part of the substrate; a thin film transistor having a semiconductor layer arranged on the first insulating film, a gate electrode and source/drain electrodes; and a display element having a pixel electrode connected to one of the source/drain electrodes of the thin film transistor; wherein the other of the source/drain electrodes of the thin film transistor is electrically connected to the substrate via the contact hole.
