PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat panel display device which has a conductive layer formed between a substrate and a polarization plate to prevent static electricity from appearing between the substrate and the polarization plate, thereby improving screen display quality. SOLUTION: The flat panel display device 200 includes: a flat display panel 220 including the substrate 221 having an image display unit 201, a display element 223 arranged on the image display unit 201 of the substrate 221 and a sealing means 225 for sealing the display element 223; a polarization member 230 arranged on at least one of the substrate 221 and the sealing means 225: and a shielding member 235 arranged at a portion that does not correspond to the image display unit 201 of the substrate 221 in order to prevent static electricity.
