PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a double cylinder type smokestack allowing inspection work or the like of a smokestack upper space to be carried out in a favorable work environment in regard to a double cylinder type smokestack provided with an external cylinder and an internal cylinder. SOLUTION: In a parapet 3 provided on an upper part of the external cylinder 2, a lower end protrudes more outward than the external cylinder 2, and it has a gap 18 of a predetermined size S between the lower end and the external cylinder 2.
