PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce weight of an internal combustion engine provided with a fuel pump driven by a rocker arm of a valve system. SOLUTION: The internal combustion engine 2 is provided with the fuel pump 90 driven by the rocker arm for the pump composed of an exhaust rocker arm 76a of the valve system 70b. In all rocker arms of intake rocker arms 74 or the exhaust rocker arm 75 excluding the exhaust rocker arm 76a which is the rocker arm for the pump, rocker arm main bodies 80, 81 of rocker arms 74, 75 excluding the exhaust rocker arm 76b is formed out of aluminum base material of which specific gravity is smaller than that of iron base material forming the rocker arm main body 82 of the exhaust rocker arm 76a. Consequently, total weight of rest of rocker arms becomes lighter than weight in a case that the rocker arm main bodies of rest of the rocker arms are formed out of iron base material.
