An optical recording medium filter free of variation of the selected reflection waveform even if the angle of incidence varies, preventing irregular reflection from the antireflection film of an optical recording medium, and preventing noise, an optical recording medium of hologram type using the optical recording medium filter and enabling revolutionary high-density recording, an optical recording medium manufacturing method for manufacturing the optical recording medium efficiently at low cost, an optical recording method, and an optical reproducing method are provided. The optical recording medium filer has a coloring material-containing layer containing at least one of a pigment or a dye and a dielectric vacuum deposition layer composed of dielectric thin films preferably having different indices of refraction.
