FILM SIDE SEAL DEVICE FOR PERFORMING CLOSED LOOP TEMPERATURE CONTROL OF HEATER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a closed loop temperature controlling device for performing the exact temperature control of a heater.

SOLUTION: A side sealer device for a contraction packaging machine performs the closed loop temperature control at the heater and maintains the optimal temperature for cutting off and sealing a thermoplastic film of two layers. The heater has an internal thermocouple and provides a cable or a cartridge heater connected to an automatic temperature controller. The heater is attached between two sets of the top and bottom V-belts disposed in the outer periphery of a drive roll and an idler roll on the side sealer device. The V-belt gives nip pressure to a film in order to drive the film. The nip pressure is generated by a nip roller in the scrap side of the film and a belt supporting guide with little friction in the package side of the film in one embodiment. The belt supporting guide is reokaced with a series of the top and bottom nip rollers, and a regulable toggle clamp gives regulable pressure to a series of the top and bottom nip rollers in another embodiment.
