<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric motor with a reduction gear mechanism as an actuator that ensures long product life, that is capable of making initial setting of an output shaft with high precision and detecting rotational position while having high reliability, and that can be miniaturized and made cost effective. <P>SOLUTION: An annular magnet 16 is mounted on a second reduction gear (13), which is a reduction spur gear at the side of a driving motor (22). Two Hall ICs (31) (32) mounted on a board 21 is arranged between the reduction gear (13) and an output gear (14). An output line of a magnetic detection signal of the annular magnet (16) detected by each Hall IC is connected to a grounding pattern. A switch fitting (23) that changes the output signal to a grounding level is provided.
