<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-purity carbon nanotube (CNT) excellent in electron emissivity and heat resistance, an electron-emitting source including CNT, an electron-emitting element with the electron-emitting source, and a method for production of the electron-emitting element. <P>SOLUTION: This invention relates to a CNT characterized in that the difference between the starting and final temperatures in thermal decomposition is≤250°C, an electron-emitting source including the CNT, an electron-emitting element with the electron-emitting source, and a method for production of the element.
