PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera system having a seamless lens drive switching mechanism which can be rotated by a motor and also by a manual operation ring, will not transmit the rotational force of the motor to the manual operation ring and does not transmit the rotational force of the manual operation ring to the motor, thereby ensuring smooth rotating operation of the manual operation ring. SOLUTION: The camera system, having the seamless lens drive switching mechanism, includes a first unidirectional input/output rotation-transmitting mechanism which transmits the rotation of the manual operation ring to the lens drive ring, by connecting the manual operation ring and the lens drive ring, when the manual operation ring and a lens drive ring is in a neutral state where the connection thereof is blocked; and when the manual operation ring is rotated in either direction from the neutral state and, whereas, maintains neutral state, even if the lens drive ring is made to rotate by the motor drive means, when they are in the neutral state. The camera system further includes a second unidirectional input/output rotation-transmitting mechanism which transmits the rotation of the motor drive means to the lens drive means, by connecting the motor drive means and the lens drive means, when the motor drive means and lens drive ring are in a neutral state where their connection is blocked and when the motor drive means is rotated in either direction from the neutral state.
