PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve uniformity in high-speed running by regularly repeating alternations of split ply piece 11A and a gap G in the peripheral direction of a tire in a carcass ply. SOLUTION: The carcass 6 of the pneumatic radial tire is composed of at least one folded carcass ply 10 whose folded parts 10b folded in the periphery of a bead core 5 are serially disposed at both ends of the ply body part 10a stretched between the bead cores 5, 5, and a non-folded carcass ply 11 extended along the outer surface of the ply body part 10a and terminated at the outside in the radial direction of the bead core 5 without being folded at both ends in the periphery of the bead core 5.
