PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an industrial robot capable of more securely preventing a fall of an elevating part and improving the design flexibility. SOLUTION: The industrial robot 1000 is equipped with a base body part B1, the elevating part B2 elevatable relative to the base body part B1, a motor 110, a transmission mechanism ST1 transmitting a driving force of the motor 110, a driving mechanism ST2 elevating the elevating part B1 by the driving force transmitted through the transmission mechanism ST1, a sensor 70 detecting an abnormality of the transmission of the driving force from the motor 110 to the elevating part B2, and a stopper plate 90 which is supported on the base body part B1, and prevents the fall of the elevating part B2 by moving to the position engaging with the elevating part B2 when the abnormality is detected by the sensor 70.
