PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup device which stabilizes a light quantity of light incident on an optical disk by suppressing noise resonating with a signal line of a light quantity monitor and thereby performing stable recording and reproduction of information. SOLUTION: The optical pickup device comprises; a laser light source 1; a driving circuit 16 for driving the laser light source 1; the light quantity monitor 14; an FPC 25; a carriage 21 which mounts the laser light source 1, the driving circuit 16, the light quantity monitor 14, and the FPC 25 thereon and is electrically connected to the ground; and a pick cover 22 which is installed on the carriage 21 so as to press down the FPC 25 and is electrically connected to the ground. The FPC is shielded by electrically connecting the pick cover 22 for pressing down the FPC 25 together with the carriage 21 to the ground, and thus, external noise can be blocked.
