摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermoacoustic engine for easily and surely avoiding trouble such as unintended interruption of thermoacoustic self-exited oscillation of working fluid, and a control method thereof. SOLUTION: The thermoacoustic enging 10 having an air column pipe 12 whose inside is sealed and in which the working fluid is filled; a heat accumulator 13 incorporated in the air column pipe 12, for making the working fluid pass through; an internal combustion engine 11 for supplying exhaust gas for heating the working fluid intervening on one end surface side of the heat accumulator 13; and a low-temperature-side heat exchanger 15 for cooling the working fluid intervening on the one end surface side of the heat accumulator 13, for imparting the thermoacoustic self-exited oscillation to the working fluid by providing a prescribed temperature gradient between both end surfaces of the heat accumulator 13 is provided with an exhaust gas temperature sensor 33 for detecting temperature of the exhaust gas, and a control device 28 for controlling operation of the internal combustion engine 11 to increase the temperature of the exhaust gas when the temperature of the exhaust gas detected by the temperature sensor 33 becomes prescribed temperature or less after the operation of the thermoacoustic engine 10.
