PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller for an internal combustion engine capable of using hydrogen as fuel and preventing self-ignition of injected hydrogen. SOLUTION: When injecting liquid fuel and hydrogen into an intake port or a combustion chamber together, respective injection start time of liquid fuel and hydrogen is set to start injection of liquid fuel prior to hydrogen. The hydrogen injected after liquid fuel is injected into the atmosphere cooled by gasifying latent heat of liquid fuel. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
