A second threshold value which is smaller than a first threshold value is set as a threshold value for starting pressure decrease control of a wheel on a high mu road surface side when a select low control is employed. Then, if a slip ratio of the wheel on the high mu road surface side exceeds the second threshold value, a pressure decrease control in ABS control is started even if the slip ratio of a wheel on a low mu road surface side does not exceed the first threshold value. Accordingly, it is possible to prevent the vehicle running state from becoming unstable due to the wheel speed of the wheel on the high mu road surface side from decreasing with respect to the vehicle speed.
