<p>The implant (1) is assembled of a central core (17) and an upper (6) and a lower plate (5) to be held between the adjacent vertebrae (3). Each of the plates (5, 6) is divided into a stationary central segment (7), a rectangular segment (9) and a curved segment (8, 10). The outer segments (8, 9) are positioned in a right angle to the central segment (7) when the implant (1) is inserted and can be pulled into extended positions by using a string (20) guided around return elements (21, 22). A locking unit keeps the lateral segments (8, 9) in place.</p> |
