PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink-jet recorder equipped with a cleaning mechanism capable of making waste inks sucked from an ink delivery head certainly separated from an air and discarded with a simple composition and of preventing inks from outflowing to a suction pump and then of improving the safety of the device. SOLUTION: The ink-jet recorder is equipped with the cleaning mechanism which is composed such that an ink storing area and not-storing area are formed by providing a partition 16 inside a vapor-liquid separation tank capable of recovering the ink sucked, and a trap member for trapping an ink mist is provided at the preceding stage of a suction pump in the storing area, thereby, a suction force generated by the suction pump 5 is obstructed with the partition 16, then, almost all of the ink mist fall below before the partition 16 and are separated with the trap member 14, therefore, the ink mist does not flow into the suction pump 5.
