PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem in an article storage device such as a refrigerator, that it has a single function such as cooling articles, and it is necessary to newly purchase an apparatus having another function when the different function is needed, which undesirably needs an installation space. SOLUTION: This article storage device as a main body comprising a detachable storage container, is provided with a replacement container having compatibility with the storage container mounted on the main body, the replacement container is provided with a functional device creating a function different from that of the storage container, and the storage container and the replacement container are replaced when necessary to provide the article storage device with various functions.
