PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve reliability of brazing of a circumference part in a cup plate type heat exchanger using a pair of plates wherein at least one is formed like a dish. SOLUTION: In a seam part 3 wherein the circumference part of one plate 1 is folded back and seamed on a circumference of the other plate 2, the plates 1 and 2 are brazed and fixed together after a press working process of plastically deforming the seam part 3 in a non-planar state.
