PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotation transmission device capable of clearly maintaining a difference of opening/closing torque between the time when stopping and holding a door at a desirable opening and the time when opening/closing the door without using a difference of friction coefficient due to a difference of a contact part like in a current one. SOLUTION: An input shaft 31 is provided with a recessed part 36 in a shaft end surface thereof, and an intermediate member 32 is coaxially arranged with the input shaft 31, and while housed inside a housing 33 freely to move in the axial direction. The intermediate member 32 is provided with a projection part 37 in a shaft end surface thereof opposite to the recessed part 36. A tapered surface 38 shrunken in the axial direction of the input shaft 31 is coaxially formed with the intermediate member 32 in the periphery thereof, and an inverted-tapered surface 39, which abuts on the tapered surface 38, is formed in the inner periphery of the housing 33. A spring 40 for energizing elastic force in a direction, in which the tapered surface 38 and the inverted-tapered surface 39 abut on each other, is interposed between the housing 33 and the intermediate member 32.
