PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for melting silicon, which apparatus can stably pour molten silicon into a casting mold 6 without spattering the molten silicon around the casting mold arranged below the apparatus when the molten silicon is poured. SOLUTION: The apparatus for melting silicon is composed of a melting crucible 1a for holding and melting a silicon material therein, a heating means 2 for heating and melting the silicon material, a pouring port 3 arranged on the bottom portion of the melting crucible 1a, and the casting mold 6 arranged below the pouring port 3. The melting crucible 1a is provided with a molten metal guide 7 in the pouring port 3, which molten metal guide 7 is directly connected to the pouring port 3 at its one end, and has an exit of the molten metal at the other end, and has a through-hole 8 for suppressing the surface tension of the molten silicon in the exit of the molten metal.
