Data communication device (1) e.g. cable modem has electronic device, which has a plate and a lamp, which is electrically connected with the plate and has a housing (10) which accommodates the electronic device. The housing has a housing body (17) with upper wall, front wall and the construction zone (12), which is fixed by the part of upper wall and by the part of the front wall. The construction zone extends over the connecting area of the upper wall and the front wall, wherein the connecting section in the construction zone is provided. The area of the construction zone at the upper wall part is symmetrical to the area of the construction zone at the front wall part. A covering (11) is attached at the construction zone of the housing body in which connecting section is provided which fits to the connecting section of the construction zone of the housing body. An independent claim is also included for the housing.
