<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photographic image processor capable of suitably executing correction processing for the whole area of an input image while utilizing the effects of a lookup table which can be used for high-speed processing and capable of obtaining an output image of high quality. <P>SOLUTION: The photographic image processor for generating an output image by correcting an inputted original image is provided with: an area division means 50a for dividing the original image into a first area including a main subject and a second area other than the first area; an LUT selection means 50d for selecting an optimum LUT based on an image characteristic of each divided area; and an LUT processing means 50c for executing correction processing by using LUTs respectively selected for the first area and the second area. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
