摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control unit for a vehicle driving device equipped with a differential mechanism that functions as an electrical differential device by differential action, suppressing reduction in the durability of a first electric motor that bears reaction torque against the input torque to the driving device while preventing increase in the size of the motor. <P>SOLUTION: A transmission mechanism 10 is made switchable between a continuously variable transmission state and a stepped transmission state by providing an engagement device (a switching clutch C0 or a switching brake B0). In particular, since the first electric motor M1 is not required to bear the reaction torque against the input torque T<SB>INS</SB>to the differential part 11 when the transmission is set to the stepped transmission state during high output running, the motor M1 is prevented from becoming large-sized while reduction in the durability is suppressed. In addition, even when switching to the stepped transmission state cannot be executed, the input torque T<SB>INS</SB>, for which the first electric motor M1 is ought to bear the reaction torque by an input torque limiting means 86, is limited, suppressing reduction in the durability of the motor M1 while preventing increase in the size of the motor M1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
