PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an indoor unit for an air conditioner capable of improving balance of air flow to a heat exchanger. SOLUTION: This indoor unit for the air conditioner comprises an air blowing mechanism, an indoor heat exchanger 10, a first solenoid valve 16a and a second solenoid valve 16b. The air blowing mechanism creates air flow. The indoor heat exchanger 10 constitutes a part of a refrigerant circuit to exchange heat between the passing air and a refrigerant. The first solenoid valve 16a and the second solenoid valve 16b control the refrigerant flow in the refrigerant circuit. The first solenoid valve 16a is placed at a front part of the indoor heat exchanger 10, and the second solenoid valve 16b is placed at a rear part of the indoor heat exchanger 10.
