PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem caused by distortion of an amplitude modulation wave outputted from a controller (interrogator). SOLUTION: On the interrogator 10, a first oscillator 13 and a second oscillator 15 for outputting a first signal and a second signal respectively; a power synthesis distribution circuit 16 for synthesizing the first signal and the second signal; an antenna 11 bonded to a synthesis end 16a of the power synthesis distribution circuit 16; a first mixer means 14 interposed between one distribution end 16b of the power synthesis distribution circuit 16 and the first oscillator 13; and a first switching means 18 for connecting the other distribution end 16c of the power synthesis distribution circuit 16 to one distribution end 16b or the second oscillator 15 are provided. A second mixer means 3 for mixing the first signal and the second signal and outputting a signal of difference of their frequencies is provided on a transponder 1. The other distribution end 16c is connected to the second oscillator 15 by the first switching means 18 for a transmission period and the other distribution end 16c is connected to the first mixer means 14 for a receiving period.
