PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aspartate which is difficult to form a hydantoin ring. SOLUTION: This polyaspartimide is represented by the formula [X is an n-valent polyether group obtained by removing n amino groups from a polyetheramine corresponding to X-(NH2)n; R2and R3are each a group selected from the group consisting of (i) H, (ii) straight chain or branched 1 to 8C alkyl groups, (iii) 6 to 10C aryl groups and (iv) five- or six-membered cycloalkyl groups formed from these groups; R1is a group selected from the group consisting of (i) H, (ii) straight chain or branched 1 to 8C alkyl groups, and (iii) 6 to 10C aryl groups; (n) is an integer of 2 to 4].
